“Treasure Island” is an adaptation of the classic adventure novel by British author Robert Louis Stevenson. The story follows a boy named Jim, who, after discovering a treasure map, embarks on an adventurous journey to find pirate treasure. Along the way, Jim faces off with the cunning Long John Silver and a variety of pirates. As the story progresses, Jim grows and matures, facing dangerous choices along the way.
Unlike the suspenseful atmosphere of the original novel, the stage adaptation of Treasure Island is filled with humour and interactive elements. The audience will not only enjoy the thrilling storyline but also have the opportunity to interact with the actors and influence the development of the plot. This play is produced by the Performing Arts Department of WASNJ and directed by Amanda Terry, the Head of Drama and the director of last year’s big production, Tinkerbell. With humorous plot twists, lively performances, and breathtaking live music, this show offers a unique experience full of laughter and surprises.
