WASNJ|John Locke Official Summer School 2025 Debuts in China!
Recently, an article by South Reviews Magazine on the “global decline of the humanities” has sparked widespread discussion online. Amid the tides of technological worship and utilitarianism, the humanities and social sciences are increasingly being pushed to the margins. However, as a firm advocate of holistic education, Wycombe Abbey School remains committed to investing in and developing the humanities and social sciences. We believe that education is not about producing the fastest or most efficient machines but about helping children navigate the vastness of the universe and discover their true selves. This summer, we are proud to host a summer school offering with John Locke Institute, a global leader in humanities and social science education, to bring an intellectually stimulating academic experience to students who are passionate about the humanities & social science. In particular, this programme is designed for young minds with a keen interest in economics and finance, offering them an opportunity to explore and engage in thought-provoking discussions.
The John Locke Institute, an independent educational organization, based in Oxford, UK, is renowned for hosting the globally acclaimed John Locke Global Essay Prize, widely regarded as the pinnacle of writing competitions in the humanities and social sciences. Recognized by top UK and US universities, the competition offers a significant advantage for applications to Ivy League and G5 institutions. Additionally, the Institute organizes summer schools annually at prestigious locations such as Oxford, Princeton, and Georgetown University, offering interdisciplinary education in philosophy, politics, economics, history, psychology and law, nurturing students’ academic ambition and intellectual curiosity.
